According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Edgar Wright's Ant-Man script will need some minor rewrites before the film goes into production--because it was written before the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was established and will take a little work to fit into the existing films. "Frankly, now we have to re-write it to put it a little bit more into the [Marvel Cinematic Universe] because it was written before it existed," Feige told EW. "We've talked about various names [to play the lead] over the past eight years but as you can imagine they keep changing as time goes by. But towards the end of this year, we'll buckle down and start casting and start refining the script, which is great and which is very Edgar. He has done a great job being incredibly true to the comics but is putting his own spin on it, so we'll be drawing on multiple mythologies for this one." Those multiple mythologies? Well, it could mean a lot of things but it's certainly worth noting that Wright's sense of humor would jive well with Robert Kirkman's The Irredeemable Ant-Man, a character that's rumored to be a part of the film by many...even if Kirkman himself doesn't believe it. "I know Edgar Wright a little bit–we talk from time to time–and I know because of his talent that that movie will be fantastic," The Walking Dead creator told us at New York Comic Con. "So I don't think that's what they're doing, I don't know, but if it has any Eric O'Grady elements in it, that will be very cool and I would be all for it."
