Edgar Wright, the director of the upcoming films The World's End and Ant-Man, told an audience today at the MCM London Comic-Con that he doesn't imagine Disney or Lucasfilm will come to him to work on any of the planned Star Wars sequels or spinoff films. "Matt from JediNews.co.uk asked if Edgar would direct one of the Star Wars sequels or spin-offs," Bleeding Cool reports. "Edgar suggested that this wouldn't even be an option. He did really drag the prequels through the dirt in Spaced, and it does seem unlikely Lucasfilm would want to associate with that." Tim Bisley, one of the series' two leads, had a passionate disdain for the prequels, in particular Episode I, which is ironic since his onscreen rival and offscreen pal Peter Serafinowicz provided a number of voices for that film, including the voice of Darth Maul. You can see one of the handful of times Wright's characters took aim at Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace below.
