Batman #28 Spoilers From Scott Snyder

Writer Scott Snyder dropped some spoilers for Batman #28 in the latest episode of DC All Access. Batman #28 will be an intermission during the ongoing story of Zero Year, which retells the origin of Batman in the New 52 universe. Batman #28 will jump into the future, six months past the present day of DC's New 52 – where Forever Evil is still in effect – up to what would be issue #39.5 of Batman: Eternal, DC's  upcoming weekly Batman series. Here's the issue's official synopsis:

This special issue, written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion with art and cover by Dustin Nguyen, will provide a peek at what's to come in the weekly Batman Eternal series, with glimpses at some key characters in the series.

So are you ready for the spoilers? You've been warned. Alright, here they come… Batman #28 will feature two big revelations: the first will be who the new kingpin of crime in Gotham City is, and Snyder says it will definitely surprise the fans. The other will be the ultimate fate of Harper Row. There's been a lot of discussion about what Harper's role in the Batman family will end up being, possibly becoming the new Robin or Nightwing, or maybe not taking on a costume at all. Snyder stops short of actually giving her a superhero name, but we will definitely see Harper in a superhero costume in Batman #28. In fact, if you watch the video you can see a shot of her in the preview art. So Harper Row will definitely become a new member of the Batman Family. Could she be the new Spoiler (see the play on words there)? We'll have to wait until the issue is released tomorrow, February 12, to find out.
