According to The Wrap, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Disney CEO Bob Iger will announce today that Marvel Studios will be filming its Netflix exclusive television series in New York City. These series focus on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, who are all known as "street level" heroes who live in New York City in the Marvel Universe. The deal worked out between Disney and the state of New York is said to include $4 million in tax incentives in order to facilitate the filming of what should total about 60 hours of television. The partnership between Netflix and Marvel was announced last November, and is said to include four solo series and a finale series with the characters coming together to form the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Defenders. While they're called the Defenders, the heroes are more commonly associated with gritty Marvel Knights line of comics from years past. The Netflix exclusive series will begin rolling out in 2015, with Daredevil leading the way.
