is reporting that the forthcoming Terminator: Genesis will not be a complete reboot, but will reset the timestream while acknowledging the past films, not unlike the recent J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek franchise. According to the site's "inside source," the plot of Terminator: Genesis will see characters time-traveling and finding themselves moving through the events of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, not unlike Back to the Future Part II. There will apparently also be a third time period outside of those films, set in the future and constituting "home base" for some of the characters. At Ohio's Arnold Sports Festival, Schwarzenegger addressed the upcoming production of Terminator: Genesis, telling ArnoldFans.com members about some of the specifics of the production. "We start filming in April and it will be a four-and-a-half month long shoot," the former California Governor said. "Most of it will be done in New Orleans, with some filming in San Francisco and maybe a little in LA. The last Terminator was when I was Governor and so I couldn't be in that movie, but now I'm back again and they are very excited about having me in the film. [Producer] David Ellison has plenty of money to do it well, in partnership with Paramount Pictures who are going to release the movie through their distribution. It's going to come out on the July 4th weekend in 2015. The preparation is going well and the script is fantastic, so I'm really looking forward to it!" The film will star Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke. Schwarzenegger will appear as well in some capacity. It will be directed by Thor: The Dark World's Alan Taylor and is due in theaters on July 1, 2015.
