The Big Bang Theory To Have Star Wars Day Episode

is working together with Lucasfilm for a special Star Wars episode timed to coincide with Star Wars Day, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The episode is called "The Proton Transmogrification," and will air on May 1, just before Star Wars day on May 4. In the episode, the group comes together in celebration of Star Wars Day when Sheldon begins getting visions of his childhood hero, Professor Proton (Bob Newhart), who becomes Sheldon's Jedi master. For the special episode, Industial Light & Magic has recreated Dagobah, the swampy planet where Yoda lives during his exile, and provided other props, including a lightsaber. "We were approached by the Lucasfilm people to do something to celebrate Star Wars Day, which was nice," co-creator Chuck Lorre told The Hollywood Reporter. Star Wars Day is celebrated annually on May 4, with the greeting "May the fourth be with you," and other celebrations of the beloved franchise. The Big Bang Theory airs Thursday nights on CBS.
