Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn admitted that while he's been frustrated in the past by directors who feel compelled to go back and tweak their existing films, updating them with new technology and new edits, he can see himself doing the same thing as he wraps post-production on Guardians.

With the press tour beginning on July 7, the filmmaker has only about a week remaining before everything has to be in place for the film, which will be released on August 1...and Gunn says that the prospect of actually putting the project down after two years of doing basically nothing else is making him emotional.

Guardians of the Galaxy is due in theaters on August 1, and a 17-minute preview in IMAX 3D will be screened in select U.S. cities on July 7.
