Will Robert Downey Jr. return for Iron Man 4? While he doesn't actually come out and definitely say he will be back for Iron Man 4 in a new interview with EW, he very strongly suggests that things are looking good for him to return.

In regards to Iron Man 4, Downey Jr. said, "It's down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that's on us to agree or disagree."

Downey also added, "When things are going great, there's a lot of agreement."

Of course, considering that Iron Man 3 earned $1.21 billion at the worldwide box office and Robert Downey Jr. was recently named the highest-earning actor by Forbes, it would be difficult for anyone to suggest that things aren't going great.

In fact, just in case there was any doubt that things were still going well with Avengers: Age of Ultron, Downey Jr. said, "Right now, this has just been swell, hasn't it? This has been a really good one and it feels good and we're having a good time."

Downey Jr. continued, "It's that thing of: Why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed? Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out."

But just when it sounds like Downey Jr. is a shoe-in to return, he also added, "The future is, as usual, uncertain."
