Agent Carter To Square Off Against Major Marvel Villain in Season One

The first season of Marvel's Agent Carter won't feature S.H.I.E.L.D. or HYDRA in any recognizable form, but it will see Carter and her allies squaring off against a major Marvel Comics villain (who was not named, obviously).

"You're not seeing the beginning of S.H.I.E.L.D.," said Executive Producer Louis D'Esposito, who directed the short film the series is based on and will direct the Agent Carter pilot. "You're seeing the SSR and Peggy Carter working for the SSR, then how it eventually becomes S.H.I.E.L.D., but that won't happen in the first season."

He added that you'll eventually see both S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA but not in the first season.

Marvel's Agent Carter will premiere in 2015 on ABC. It will start shooting in April.
