Gotham Season 3 Promo: James Gordon Does What He Wants

Gotham will be home to a very different Jim Gordon this season, and while he isn't serving the city as a part of the GCPD anymore, Gordon is still helping in his own way.

In the upcoming third season of Gotham, Gordon has taken to bounty hunting to pay the bills, as he searches for the escaped Indian Hill patients that were set free last season. The newest promo for the show gives fans their first glimpse at the new Jim Gordon.

"These days, I go home when I want, get drunk when I want, and end of the day I can sleep, because saving Gotham's not my job anymore. Hunting down Strange's freaks pays the rent plenty. Let someone else serve and protect."

While Gordon will have his hands full, so will the rest of Gotham City, including Bruce Wayne. In addition to the escaped monsters from Indian Hill, season 3 will focus heavily on the Court of Owls, the ancient society that has been pulling all the strings behind the scenes. Throw in the debut of The Mad Hatter the streets of Gotham are in for quite a shock.

Mad Hatter actor Benedict Samuel described his character in comparison to good guys like Gordon and Wayne.

"Ben McKenzie's character, Jim Gordon, is trying to be good in a corrupt world; the Bruce Wayne character there's a consistent drive to find answers and not leave anything unturned," Samuel said. "Mad Hatter is constantly varying. He has 'the drive of his sister,' but without that present there's nothing else that can define him."

The new season of Gotham debuts on FOX September 19th.
