We saw Alex's darker side come out recently when her father, Jeremiah Danvers, betrayed the DEO and Lillian Luthor with her kidnapping and deportation of aliens. While still harboring hope that her father still had some good in him, Alex's loyalty was tested by Martian Manhunter, who disguised himself as Jeremiah and asked her to steal something from the DEO. She agreed to did it, thus failing the test. And for that, she was suspended. There, at her lowest moment, Maggie gave her the support Alex needed, and the two worked together to track down Cadmus' headquarters.
Their relationship will be tested again in an upcoming episode when one of Maggie's ex-girlfriends shows up and gets her caught up in an art heist, though you can expect the love birds to overcome that obstacle too and take their relationship to the next level.
“They have a lot to grow together, but they are realizing how serious they are about each other,” Chyler Leigh told EW, “so I think there’s some things coming up that would take it maybe to the next level.”
A new villain (guest star Teri Hatcher) comes to National City, putting Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) on high alert. Meanwhile, Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) girlfriend, Lyra (guest star Tamzin Merchant), gets Winn in trouble with the law. Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) attempts to help Winn but old loyalties get in the way. The Music Meister (Darren Criss) attacks Supergirl.
John Medlen directed the episode written by Katie Rose Rogers & Jess Kardos.
