The DC Extended Universe is not quite the revered superhero cinematic universe that it should be - at least, not yet. This year, DC Films has two big projects releasing in theaters: Wonder Woman this summer, and Justice League in the fall. Both of these films mark a much-desired turning point in the DCEU, with more traditional heroic tales being told in these DC superhero films.
However, not everything about the DCEU has been problematic; in fact, some of the best DC superhero moments fans have ever seen have been part of DCEU films. Case in point: Ben Affleck's Batman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, two of the best, most badass characters in the DCEU.
A DC Comics fan has created a new video called "Justice Gods," which celebrates Batman and Wonder Woman's badassery in the DCEU. You can check out the footage (which combines the epic Batman "Warehouse Scene" from Batman v Superman and the action seen in the Wonder Woman trailers) below:
Criticize the DCEU all you want, but Affleck, Gadot, and their impressive stunt doubles/CGI upgrades definitely deserve to be on the big screen.
Wonder Woman: Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers and her true destiny.
Justice League: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
