For those of you hoping Chris Miller and Phil Lord would return to Flashpoint, think again. The pair were once attached to the DC adaptation before Lucasfilm lured them away with a standalone movie about Han Solo. The pair were let go from the project earlier this year, prompting rumors to swirl about their DC homecoming.
However, that doesn't not seem likely to happen anymore. News broke today that the director duo have taken on Artemis, the film adaptation of a novel by Andy Weir. Kroll reported that the pair have almost certainly been taken from Flashpoint's running, but who does that leave then to oversee the movie?

If Lord and Miller aren't open for Flashpoint, there is one director perfectly suited for the job. Reports have persisted that Robert Zemeckis has been eyed for the job, and Kroll said the man was still being looked into as of right now.
Reports cropped up about Zemeckis and his attachment back in May. Sources from The Wrap and Screen Junkies suggested Warner Bros. was looking at the Back to the Future visionary, and those reports heated up later in the year when DC Films' Geoff Johns admitted the director was on of his all-time favorites.
