Henry Cavill, who takes to the skies as Superman for the third time in Justice League, shared a special message aimed at his nearly four million followers on Instagram. The heartfelt message was accompanied by photos of the actor interacting with fans assembled for Monday's red carpet premiere in Los Angeles.

"To you the fans, what can I say...you are incredible, amazing, wonderful people and for you I am endlessly grateful," Cavill wrote. "Thank you. These Superheroes that we play are you and you are them. Your passion, your patience, your belief in the magic is why I do what I do. Thank you all for coming and for your support. Being on this journey with you is special beyond words." Cavill concluded with the hashtags "Justice League," "Hope," "Superman" and "You."

Cavill's Superman sat out most of the promotions for Justice League in an effort to conceal specifics the big blue boyscout's return after he was killed in action at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the 2015 sequel to 2013's Man of Steel. The Zack Snyder-directed film launched the DCEU, with the latest installment, Justice League, serving as a sort of course-correction for Cavill's oft-criticized last son of Krypton.

Justice League has arrived to a "rotten" score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, where it it currently sits at 36% — better than Batman v Superman's 27% and Suicide Squad's 26%, but lower than Man of Steel's 55% and Wonder Woman's 92%.

Superman's arc carried over three movies, culminating in what is — without giving too much away — a much-needed revamp of the character come Justice League. Though a second Superman stand alone isn't coming anytime soon (if one comes at all), Warner Bros. has had conversations with X-Men: First Class and Kingsman: The Golden Circle director Matthew Vaughn to take the directorial reigns for a possible Man of Steel sequel.

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher and Amy Adams, Justice League is now playing.
