Commuters in Japan can now experience the ever-popular music of the Final Fantasy games on the go as the catchy tunes are played in subway stations in honor of the 30th anniversary of Final Fantasy.

A long-running franchise of games from developer Square Enix, the Final Fantasy has become a powerhouse in the gaming industry, spanning across the world and creating remakes and new games to keep fans entertained. It's been around since 1987 now, so it's certainly had time to garner such a massive fanbase that follows the series' every move.

Despite being a hit in multiple regions, the Final Fantasy games have truly taken off in Japan, the home country of Square Enix. Because of this, tons of specials and festivities from Square Enix have been taking place during the anniversary celebrations. The music that accompanies the subway's departures is just one of the many treats that come with the anniversary of the series, but I'm sure many wouldn't object to the music sticking around longer.

A Minatomirai Station and a Yokohama Station in Japan are each playing different tunes as the subways take off towards their destination. While fans of the game series elsewhere might be missing out on the fun, fret not, because there's Final Fantasy music to be found everywhere. If you find yourself needing a Final Fantasy fix the video above features almost a solid nine minutes of Final Fantasy Victory Fanfare music to indulge in as you recall the thrills of victories throughout many of the games in the series.

Some of the other special events that Square Enix has come up with in honor of the anniversary include the announcement of some special 30th-anniversary edition plushies. There's one for a Moogle and one for a Chocobo that look exactly as adorable as they sound, and there's also a ballpoint pen and a commemorative mug that's available to purchase. All of the items are currently available for preorder, but the plushies have a max order number of just one per person, so you can expect them to go quickly.

The Final Fantasy music is set to play on the subways until July 7.
