Everyone knows that there is some sweet Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild loot tie-ins with the Skyrim Nintendo Switch port. Who needs mods when you have Amiibo? But some fans were curious if there was a way to get these coveted unlockables without the additional physical merch purchase ... good news: there is.

Turns out, the Amiibo just make it easier to get them but they aren't vital to their acquirement. Well, at least most of them. It looks like the Master Sword does still require the Amiibo figure - but everything else is fair game. Because honestly ... the Dragonborn was meant to harness their inner Link. So what's the best way to go about getting the Nintendo Switch-exclusive gear?

For those playing the recently released port, there will be a quest called Throat of the World, it will be seen during the main questline. Head to High Hrothgar where the Greybears will teach the "Clear Skies" shout. This shout is imperative to being able to clear the debris out of the way in order to make it up the mountainside to reach the very highest point in the game. From there, players will encounter the dragon Parrthurnax, talk to him face the shrine and swing a left.

Near the very top of the mountain, there will be a tiny cave. Go inside and there will be a unique looking chest. It's unique because it holds very special treasure: The Champion's Tunic and the infamous Hyrule Shield! Unfortunately, as mentioned previously, there isn't a way to unlock the Master Sword without the Amiibo. Luckily, we've got the guide for what unlocks what, as well ask our Nintendo Switch Skyrim full review!
