Spider-Man: Homecoming is swinging into theaters on July 7, bringing fans the wall-crawler's first solo film to be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This go around, Spidey will be taking on The Vulture, Shocker, and possibly some more surprise appearances along the way. Without question, Spider-Man has one of the deepest rogue's gallery in comic books today - second only to Batman - so there's no shortage of bad guys Spider-Man could round up for future films.

But which baddie deserves a shot?

We here at ComicBook.com have decided to narrow down the list and figure out which Spider-Man villains deserve to crack the top ten, in what's sure to be a controversial list no matter who makes the cut.

Take for example, one of our favorite Spider-Man villains, Kraven the Hunter (who landed the No. 4 spot) has still yet to appear in any of the live-action films, which is too bad considering he's one of the more uniquely motivated villains in all of comic books.

In fact, his most riveting storyline, "Kraven's Last Hunt," could easily be adapted to film.

The story was published in 1987 and sees Kraven actually DEFEAT Spider-Man by shooting him with a tranquilizer dart and burying him alive. Kraven then wears Spider-Man's costume, and for two weeks, brutally beats up criminals in order to prove to himself that he is better than Spider-Man in every way. Once Spider-Man returns, Kraven declares himself the victor, and retires to his home, where he commits suicide with a rifle… Who wouldn't want to see that movie?
