Justice League has certainly been coy regarding any involvement by the Green Lantern Corps, but a new image shows what a Lantern throwdown with the film's villain could look like.
Artist Bosslogic teamed up with Kingsletter to create a new poster for Justice League showcasing the rest of the squad. The two teamed up before on a Darkseid vs League poster and wanted to create one for the rest of the league. The poster features Steppenwolf looming over Cyborg, Flash, and Aquaman, but it's the second poster that is even better.
The variant poster is the "lights out version", which features a much darker landscape. The only color coming from the villain is his bright red eyes, with most of the light coming from the hero who stands opposed to him. That hero is Green Lantern, presumably Hal Jordan, who has several construct missiles aimed right at the dark presence.
"No more Lanterns" naa fam, we here! - lights out version #justiceleague poster with @kingsletter we had to add him in just in case :) #ifyoulikeitputaringonit 💍," Bosslogic said.
This comes on the heels of a recent report from The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, who indicated there could be multiple Green Lanterns in Justice League.
"In Justice League, there will be not one Green Lantern, but two Green Lanterns," Gonzales said on Periscope. "Let's see if it sticks and they keep them in or if they cut it out."
Gonzalez previously said there would at least be one Green Lantern, but it isn't the only rumor/theory out there about the Corps involvement.
Another theory goes further, envisioning a scenario that sees the Justice League fighting their way into Steppenwolf's ship. They discover a man in obvious pain attached to cables, which are drawing power from him. The League frees the mysterious man, who turns out to be Hal Jordan. It would seem Steppenwolf took Earth's Lantern guardian captive at some point and has been using his energy to power his Parademon army.
While that is just a theory, you have to admit it's a pretty solid one. At least we won't have to wait much longer to find out just how Green Lantern fits in the DCEU.
Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
