In the less than two weeks since its debut, the trailer for The Last Jedi has had every single frame analyzed by passionate fans in hopes of uncovering any clue they can about the film's narrative. One fan noticed that a trailer that had Taiwanese subtitles and its use of gender-specific characters confirms key details about who Snoke is talking to in specific sequences, confirming the extent that the trailer went to in hopes of misleading the viewer.

Over on Reddit, one fan noted that, when Snoke says, "When I found you," the character used for "you" is feminine. Later, when Snoke says, "Fulfill your destiny," the subtitles use a character specifying he's talking to a male. Lastly, Luke's comments, "This is not going to go the way you think," uses subtitles to specify he's talking to a male.

With the trailer offering glimpses of Snoke using his Force powers on Rey, we can assume that he is addressing her with these initial comments. One question this raises is in regards to the extent of this search, whether it is from Kylo having been defeated by Rey or if this pursuit potentially began before the events of The Force Awakens.

Given that we've seen Snoke interact with Kylo, many were under the impression that Snoke's comments, "When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power. And beyond that, something truly special," were directed towards his servant, but now we can expect this to be said to Rey, detailing just how strong she is.

Luke's comments are delivered while he's on what appears to be Ahch-To, but given the subtitles' use of the male character, Luke could potentially be speaking with Kylo or even a member of the Knights of Ren, who are rumored to pursue Rey on Ahch-To.

Seeing as we're still two months away from the film's debut and all of this speculation is based off one two-and-a-half-minute trailer, we can only assume the conjectures will continue to grow right up until the film's release.

We'll get the complete picture when The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
