Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to blast into theaters later this December, and Lucasfilm is cranking up promotional efforts for the film. Last month, the studio released their international trailer for Rogue One that showed off characters like Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso. And, today, two brand-new international posters for the film dropped.
The official Star Wars Twitter posted photos of two international posters for Rogue One. The account uploaded the tweet with a short message that reads, "Incoming: Official #RogueOne intel from South Korea and Japan."

The Korean poster features a stark, dark color scheme. Shaded black and white, the poster features the main cast of Rogue One and the film's title in hangul. As for Japan's poster, the image is far brighter and features Jyn on a beach. However, not everything is quite as sunny as it seems considering the looming Death Star in the background.
Given the global appeal of Star Wars, Lucasfilm has made extra efforts to appeal to international fans as of late. The studio announced they would be partnering with five major brands to promote Rogue One: General Mills, Duracell, Gillette, Nissan, and Verizon. The campaigns will run globally and feature exclusive Star Wars merchandising.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with such a remarkable group of promotional partners for Rogue One," Lynwen Brennan, General Manager of Lucasfilm said. "This first in a series of Star Wars standalone films represents an exciting new era for both Star Wars and Lucasfilm, and the partners joining us on this exciting journey have each designed a stellar campaign capturing the spirit and camaraderie of Rogue One."
Last year, Lucasfilm went so far as to dip into both Japanese and Korean popular culture to promote Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
In Japan, Lucasfilm revealed the film would be prefaced by a short animated clip featuring Luffy from One Piece. The character, who is all but a cultural icon in Japan, wished Star Wars good luck and slyly reminded audiences that a new One Piece film was on its way. Fans didn't react all that positively to the crossover though.
But, in Korea, Lucasfilm opted to skip television adverts and hire one of the country's biggest bands to promote Star Wars. The force was definitely with the K-pop act EXO as the group collaborated with Lucasfilm to create a single titled "Lightsaber" and even released a theatrical music video for the track. With over twelve million views, the song went viral and satisfied the hearts of millions of K-pop enthusiasts.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16 2016.
