ABC Television Network and its parent company Disney are teaming up for The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration special on Thursday, November 24 at 8 p.m., 7 Central. The Thanksgiving Day special will take place worldwide, showing off several of Disney's castles decked out for the Holidays. As part of the event, Disney will also debut "exclusive footage from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the announcement on twitter declared.

The Magical Holiday Celebration will feature appearances (and probably performances) by Kelly Clarkson, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, and is hosted by Derek and Julianne Hough.

Disney has Doctor Strange opening this weekend, and Moana opening the day before Thanksgiving, with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story their last film of the year, on December 16, 2016. The House of Mouse is already on pace for an industry record box office year, first breaking their own record of $5.84 billion this weekend with the release of Doctor Strange. The company hit $5.81 billion ahead of the next Marvel Studios release, on the backs of the immensely successful Zootopia, Captain America: Civil War, The Jungle Book, and Finding Dory. That's despite a few underperformances this year (and an outright flop or two). The all-time record, held by Universal Studios, is $6.89 billion, and with major blockbusters from three of their hit studios left it should be well in reach.

Rogue One is the first of the new standalone films from Lucasfilm that take place in the Star Wars universe, but don't focus on the core "Skywalker Saga" of the episodic films. The project from director Gareth Edwards instead focuses on Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her squad of Rebels on their mission to steal the Death Star plans, as mentioned in the opening crawl of the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Lucasfilm has already released two teasers, a "final trailer" and a behind the scenes sizzle reel shown at Star Wars Celebration Europe in London back in July. If they follow Disney's formula, there will likely be anywhere from 40-75 TV spots released in the weeks leading to the film - but they have Moana to take care of first.
