The stage is set for epic super hero showdowns in 2016.

DC Comics has their two most iconic heroes of all-time ready to do battle (and eventually team up) with Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Marvel has the relationships of their Cinematic Universe coming to a boiling point in Captain America: Civil War.

Sure, we're all very excited for both of these movies (in fact, we're excited for all six comic book movies arriving next year), but the truth is - deep down - we all have one more we're more excited for.

We've seen more of Batman v. Superman, as its first trailer launched several months ago, with an epic new trailer releasing last night. Captain America: Civil War's campaign has only just begun with its first posters and trailers being released last week.

Though similar in their hero vs. hero format, Civil War and Dawn of Justice are arriving under very different circumstances.

Civil War is the 12th film in a long line of successful Marvel movies which have established the characters and their relationships with one another. Dawn of Justice, however, is only the second in DC's Extended Universe, with only one hero having been introduced and Bruce Wayne's Batman serving as merely an Easter Egg in the Man of Steel debut.

While Civil War's trailer seems to hit home a bit more with its one liners, such as the emotional, "So was I," from Tony Stark and contains fantastic action from the Russo brothers who previously helmed The Winter Soldier, Batman v. Superman's most recent trailer got viewers pretty hyped. The reveal of Doomsday, a moment of humor between Batman and Superman, and a shot of the DC Trinity standing together, reminiscent of the first time the Avengers were all on screen together for the first time, seem to have launched the BvS Hype Train straight out of the station.

This isn't a question of which movie will be better. It's not which movie will make the most at the box office. Those debates will surely ensue in the comment sections, but for now, let's see which movie of the two we are more excited for.

Let's be honest, we're all going to see both of them.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.
