"Do you want to know where it all started? Where it all began with that dark character called Riddick?" actor Vin Diesel asked after he and director David Twohy appeared onscreen together in a video on his Facebook page.
In about a year, the pair will apparently planning to put an origin film for the character, who first appeared in 2000's Pitch Black.
According to Twohy, the film will be a prequel that gives a sense of the character's history. The two couldn't quite agree whether it would be a PG-13 or an R-rated film.
Earlier today, it was also revealed that Diesel had signed a deal with Universal TV that included producing a Riddick TV series.
