Gods of Egypt Super Bowl Trailer Released Early

Gods of Egypt

The Super Bowl trailer for Lionsgate's Gods of Egypt has been released online.

In Gods of Egypt, the survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, a defiant mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) forms an unlikely alliance with the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.

Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, Gerard Butler, and Geoffrey Rush.

Gods of Egypt opens in theaters Feb. 26.

(An earlier version of this article incorrectly said that the trailer had been leaked, but it appears it's actually been officially released. Apologies.)
