Like it or not, Mob Psycho 100 is about to get a live-action take. This month, Netflix Japan will release its adaptation of the shonen series, and TV Tokyo has just released its first trailer.

As you can see above, the reel of Mob Psycho 100 is a short one. It begins with Shigeo Kageyama as he watches his crush from afar. However, the boy winds up using his powerful Esper abilities to keep the girl from falling when she trips.

In the trailer's next scene, fans are shown Arataka Reigen as he appears to throw holy water around himself. The reel goes on to show Kageyama forcefully exorcising a spirit, pining over his unrequited crush, and running into his soon-to-be mentor Reigen in a parking garage.

If you are not familiar with Mob Psycho 100, then you can still catch up on the supernatural series. The story was crafted by One, a webcomic artist best-known for creating One Punch Man. The comic started in April 2012, and Bones adapted part of its into an anime series in July 2016.

Mob Psycho 100 tells the story of Shigeo Kageyama, an eighth grader with Esper ability. The psychic tries his best to not stand out, but his powers often rope him into increasingly dangerous situations. Kageyama's powers grow more powerful as the years pass, so he buckles down his emotions to keep a lid on his powers. However, as more threats continue to pursue Kageyama, the boy learns how difficult it is to keep his emotions under lock - but the fate of the world depends on him keeping a straight face.

Earlier this year, Mob Psycho 100 did come to an end when One ended its web-comic. The farewell left fans of Kageyama feeling down, but the creator did say there were exciting announcements coming for the series in 2018. Fans are hoping a new anime season of Mob Psycho 100 is in the cards, so netizens are keeping their fingers crossed for such an announcement.
