The CW's Supergirl premieres tonight -- the first time a new episode of the series has aired on the network, which grabbed it after CBS elected not to pick it up for a second year.
Ahead of the premiere -- which is at 8 p.m. ET -- ComicBook.com figured we would look back at our video archives and take a stroll through some of the material we recorded with the cast (as well as executive producer Sarah Schechter and guest star Tyler Hoechlin) during Comic Con International: San Diego back in July.
Some of this material we've run before, some of it is new, but ahead of tonight's season premiere, here's your chance to spend about 20 minutes watching us chat with Melissa Benoist (Kara Zor-El), Mehcad Brooks (James Olsen), Hoechlin (Clark Kent), Schechter, David Harewood (J'Onn J'Onzz), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), and Jeremy Jordan (Winn Schott).
"I think things need to progress, and everyone's kind of moving around. It's a bit of a chess board right now with characters."
"I can't say exactly what happens, but there is a big change coming for Jimmy's character and I'm really excited aobut it -- and it has something to do with the DEO/Cadmus world."
"With everything going on in the world right now, it's fantastic that we have a show like this that comes at it from an optimistic and hopeful point of view."
"For [Clark], the tragedy is that he doesn't have any memories of [Krypton] -- of where he's from. She does, and I think it informs her in a really interesting way."
"When he comes in, there's a little bit of tension between me and Superman....It's exciting becuase it really kicks off between the two of them. They nearly knock some lumps out of each other.
"Now, she's just on a mission. Initially it was all about protecting Kara, and now it's about figuring out the things outside of immediately just Kara....To know that [Jeremiah] is there, wouldn't that motivate anybody?"
"Winn is like the ultimate fanboy and Superman is like the ultimate superhero, so when the two combine, it's kind of like a fanboy explosion."
Supergirl's second season will bring in Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Sharon Leal as Miss Martian, Chris Wood as Mon-El, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, and Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer. Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter will star as the as-yet-unnamed President of the United States. Villains to be featured on the season include Roulette (Dichen Lachman) and Metallo (Frederick Schmidt), with the wild card of Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), whose role in the season isn't yet known.
Supergirl airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. New episodes start tonight, with "The Adventures of Supergirl," which guest stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman.
