On Saturday, at New York Comic Con, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment unveiled he first official film footage (click here for details) from their next DC Universe original movie, Justice League Dark. Former Constantine star Matt Ryan, who is voicing John Constantine in the animated film, was part of the talented panel, and at one point, he was asked if he'd ever return to Arrow.
ComicBook.com's Kofi Outlaw was in attendance and reports:
Ryan said that this is the first time he's been free in awhile, but in this crazy ride of acting, he's learned to not rule anything out." He said that in terms of an Arrow return, he's open to it because: "I love the character."
In May 2015, right after NBC cancelled Constantine, Arrow star Stephen Amell expressed interest in having Matt Ryan reprise the role of the trench coat wearing demon hunter for his series. In November, in the episode titled "Haunted," Ryan did guest-star as Constantine. He we got to see him in flashbacks, showing how he and Oliver Queen became friends, and present-day, using his mystical knowledge to help restore the Sara Lance's soul after being resurrected by the Lazarus Pit.
Justice League Dark introduces John Constantine (voiced by Matt Ryan!) to the DCU animated realm, as well as his pals Zatanna (Camilla Luddington), Deadman (Nicholas Turturro), Etrigan the Demon (Ray Chase), and Swamp Thing fighting alongside Batman (Jason O'Mara).
The film is being directed by Jay Oliva and produced by James Tucker.
Justice League Dark arrives on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD in early 2017.
