Earlier today, ABC cancelled Marvel's Agent Carter, but you don't have to worry, the show's star, Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Black Mirror), wasn't out of work for long. ABC gave a series order (via EW) to Atwell's new series Conviction.

In the show, Atwell will play lawyer and former First Daughter Hayes Morrison (Atwell). She accepts a job offer to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother's Senate campaign. Working with the new Conviction Integrity Unit, she'll look at cases where there may have been a wrongful conviction and try to overturn them.

Conviction also stars Eddie Cahill, Shawn Ashmore, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney, Manny Montana, and Daniel DiTomasso. Liz Friedman will write and executive-produce with Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper, and Liz Friedlander.

Conviction is coming soon to ABC.
