Did the Deadpool 3 trailer deliver on all of the hype?
Following the release of the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine during the Super Bowl on Sunday night, the Phase Zero podcast got together for a live reaction and breakdown of the first official look. This trailer, originally expected to be for Deadpool 3, has been one of the most anticipated moments in the Marvel fandom since Ryan Reynolds took to social media to announce the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The new trailer immediately revealed connections to the Loki series and previous X-Men movies, garnering quite a bit of additional excitement.
The trailer released on Sunday night, getting millions of views in its first 24 hours of release. The Phase Zero crew played the trailer once in its entirety before combing through the trailer to capture as many hidden details as possible in real time. It's one of the most-watched live episodes of Phase Zero since Loki Season 2 ended its run of new episodes last year, being the latest Phase Zero installment on the road to the next Deadpool movie. With the X-Men re-watch and review already having released, X-2 is next in line for Phase Zero's X-Men universe marathon leading up to the Reynolds-lead multiverse story, the first Deadpool film made by Marvel Studios.
