has already begun filming in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan, particularly in Oakland County. The film's budget of at least $131 million makes it the most expensive movie ever filmed in the state. A sizable chunk of that budget is going toward hiring a lot of locals to be part of the film, including extras to be part of the film's "cast of thousands." Well, those that aren't digitally rendered anyway. "I have heard the term 'cast of thousands,'" Susan Dorris, Oakland County film commissioner, told MLive.com, "and I don't know if that means it's digitally created or it's actual people employed. But I do know they will be using a lot of extras. There's a lot of crowd scenes. As for local people who are working on the crew, I know that by speaking to people with another production that is going on in Detroit, they said 'Well, they took all of our carpenters and all of our set dressers.' So they are basically trying to employ everybody they can get their hands on to work on this production. I'm going to say that if another production comes in here, we're going to be more than happy to make sure we got all the people to make sure we fill in the cast and all the crew positions. But they might be sharing with 'atman vs. Superman." Stars like Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot have already been spotted in the Oakland County area of Michigan. Dorris says they welcome them wholeheartedly and hope that the area will be considered when the studio is deciding on a shooting location of Justice League. "They know now more about the process (involved with filming in Michigan and Metro Detroit) and the Michigan Film Office," Dorris said. "They see how easy it is to work with (the office). Financial people, those working with the incentives process, they all know they are getting top class customer service from all the different counties since they are not going to be just in Oakland County. We want them to have a good experience on this one and would love to have them come back - but that's their choice." Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to theaters May 6, 2016.
