hasn't quite hit theaters yet, but The Wrap is reporting that Warner Bros. has already put Jared Stern (The Internship, Mr. Popper's Penguins) to work on a script for the sequel. With advanced market research projecting The LEGO Movie at the top of the box office with a $40 million opening weekend, it's easy to see why Warner Bros. wouldn't want to waste any time putting the sequel into production. The LEGO Movie is written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who, along with Stern, are members of a consortium of writing and directing talent that Warner Bros. put together to work on new animated projects. Though The LEGO Movie was greenlit before the consortium's formation, it is the first animated film that Warner Bros. has released since the consortium's creation. The LEGO Movie arrives in theaters February 7, 2013.
