While rumors surfaced awhile back that Harrison Ford had already signed a deal to play Han Solo in Star Wars Episode 7, the only sequel that it's been officially confirmed that he's going to be part of is Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Harrison Ford himself has been silent on rumors in regards to Star Wars.
However, Carrie Fisher has broken the silence and appears to be the first former Star Wars cast member to directly confirm her participation in Star Wars Episode 7. When Palm Beach Illustrated asked, "Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?" Carrie Fisher replied, "Yes."
However, even though Carrie Fisher's answer seems short, sweet and to the point, there's always the chance that she might claim that she just meant that she would return if asked. Fisher also gave her thoughts on what Princess Leia might be like in Star Wars Episode 7. Fisher said, "Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."
Star Wars Episode 7 is scheduled to be released in movie theaters sometime during the summer of 2015.
