Lucasfilm and Disney have apparently figured out a way to sate the market's demand for new Star Wars merchandise without giving any specific details away about Star Wars: The Force Awakens: a new "Ralph McQuarrie Artist's Series" of toys from Sideshow Collectibles.

First up: a figurine that some are speculating actually does contain a stealth spoiler for The Force Awakens: A Stormtrooper, as McQuarrie drew them early on in the concept art stage, with a blue lightsaber.

While fans were quick to reject the idea in the comments, HitFix suggested that this might tie into the popular theory that John Boyega's character in The Force Awakens, seen in Stormtrooper armor in the trailer for the film, is either an Empire deserter or a Rebel spy.

McQuarrie, who passed away before The Force Awakens began filming, has been an inspiration for a number of ideas that have made it into the new film as well as Star Wars Rebels, Simon Kinberg and Dave Filoni had told reporters at Comic Con this year, including some droid and weapon designs never previously adapted to the screen.

For now, though, all we know is that they're making an action figure based on a decades-old concept piece...and that it's apparently part of a series of such toys, which if we're guessing will also include the alternate versions of characters an visuals seen in Dark Horse Comics' The Star Wars.
