Supergirl Officially Begins Production

The pilot for Greg Berlanti's CBS pilot for Supergirl officially started production today, according to a tweet from executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.

Set around a college-aged Kara Zor-El, she'll deal with her alien heritage while working with Cat Grant. Other familiar faces will include Jimmy Olsen, Hank Henshaw and Winslow Schott.

Kreisberg just joined the production officially, although one of the first photos of Benoist with Berlanti also included the producer, who works with Berlanti on Arrow and The Flash.

Supergirl is expected to debut on CBS in the fall. It stars Melissa Benoist in the title role, along with Chyler Leigh, Calista Flockhart, Laura Benanti, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
