The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun Reveals Why Glenn Hasn't Killed Any Humans

How many walkers have you killed? How many people? Why?

In our years watching The Walking Dead, we can get a pretty good sense for how many walkers Glenn has killed (although given his time "missing" and off-camera, we don't know exactly). As for people...well, it's none, right?

Why?

During an interview with EW, actor Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn, told the magazine what he thought. Talking about Glenn's desire to create a stable environment for the child he and Maggie are bringing into the world, Yeun added:

"And part of that is echoing from the last season, the idea that sometimes we can be out there too long, and that we can completely lose ourselves. And to that extent as well, there's the fact that Glenn has not killed another human being as of yet, and it's not from a place of Glenn saying, 'I can never do that,' but it's more along the lines of Glenn has not faced a situation where he's been forced to. And if he isn't forced to, he chooses not to, because I think for him, he's trying to preserve a part of himself to say that anything that I do, I want to be able to look my kid in the eye and say, 'Hey, I lived this way, and I'm still here. So you can live this way, and you can still be here as well.' I think everything's kind of a prep for this kid, and so, yeah, I mean, that's kind of where they're at right now with the baby."

Of course, there's no guarantee of anything in the world of The Walking Dead, so no matter how hard you try not to lose your humanity, it's impossible to be sure you'll succeed -- much less that you'll survive long enough to meet a child who's still nearly nine months away...!

The Walking Dead returns on February 14, so expect plenty more from the show's designated couple -- Yeun and his onscreen wife Lauren Cohan -- as Valentine's Day nears!
