While fans come up with conspiracy theories and rationalizations as to why the longtime Autobot leader Optimus Prime is suddenly fighting the very soldiers he lead into battle all these years, feel free to enjoy the latest TV spot from Paramount Pictures. There isn't any new footage here, but it does a great job of summing up the most exciting aspect of the upcoming film.
You can view the new clip above.
As for Optimus, the Transformers staple might not be the focus or the Autobots leader in Transformers films after The Last Knight. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently opened up about that possibility.
"One of the interesting things is we question whether Optimus would be the leader [in future films]. On that level, we’re already taking a step in that direction. It’s sort of like doing a Batman movie without Batman. I find it hard to see him not being a player in it. Does he have to be the central leader player? No, he doesn’t have to be. He doesn’t have to be, and in this movie, we question it, and he questions it."
Transformers: The Last Knight stars Mark Wahlberg (Planet of the Apes) as Cade Yeager, Isabela Moner (100 Things To Do Before High School) as Izabella, Josh Duhamel (Life as We Know It) as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Seymour Simmons, and Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7) as Robert Epps, as well as Jerrod Carmichael (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World). The voice cast includes Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane) as Hound.
Transformers: The Last Knight is set for release June 23, 2017.
