Having Baron Corbin as a representative of Team Smackdown has been met with mostly quizzical looks and some pretty good memes, but WWE has been hellbent on trying to get him over these past few months.

It looks like somebody at WWE was listening as at the recent Smackdown tapings in Glasglow, Corbin was hit with an injury angle and taken off the team. He was scheduled to be part of the five-on-five Survivor Series match-up that pits some of the biggest names of each brand against one another for "brand supremacy", a la what they did a few years ago with the Bragging Rights pay-per-view event.

So who will be taking the Baron's place on the team? Corbin will be replaced by Smackdown! Live Commissioner Shane McMahon himself!

Well, Corbin will be replaced by Smackdown! Live Commissioner Shane McMahon himself! Since returning this Spring, Shane O'Mac has made an instant impact on the company, especially on their Big Blue Brand. Shane's match with the Undertaker at WrestleMania introduced him to a whole new generation of WWE fans and his involvement with Smackdown was a perfect fit to balance out Stephanie's reign over at Raw.

With this surprise addition, what can fans expect from Shane this time around? It seems like they're building more and more for brand dominance in the coming weeks, especially with Smackdown and Raw will fight for the right for the Cruiserweight Division and its champion, as well as the Intercontinental Championship. Shane, even at the age of 46, has shown that he still possesses that daredevil spirit that captivated audiences during the Attitude Era. Could Shane O'Mac once again steal the show?

Survivor Series airs Sunday, November 20th only on the WWE Network.
