Days ago, we reported on a petition to get a statue of Canadian mutant superhero Wolverine of the X-Men placed outside Edmonton City Hall. City council member Andrew Knack, of Edmonton, has weighed on the idea and he seems to like it.

"The first reaction is, this is kind of funny," Councillor Knack told CTV News. "But then you realize they're taking this very seriously…I think it's a great idea, assuming we go about it the right approach, can't be taxpayer dollars to fund a statue of Wolverine."

As revealed in the Wolverine: Origin comic book, the centuries old Wolverine was originally born in Alberta, Canada. He wouldn't be the first fictional character to be get a statue in his native city either, as Rocky, Robocop, and Superman have all received similar tributes in their hometowns.
