James Gunn Says Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 End Credit Scenes Are All His

In the comments under a facebook live video that Guardians of the Galaxy director posted today, a fan asked the question: "How far ahead of time does Marvel communicate their ideas for the direction of the movie and how much input do they give concerning the mid-credits scenes?" Gunn responded, "The story and end credit scenes are all mine. Marvel okays everything of course but the ideas are from me. I've never been given some plot point I have to fit into the movie."

Credit sequences have been a question in the past with Gunn - no fault of his, or anyone elses really but still an issue. In a Bleeding Cool interview with the director of Thor: The Dark World, Alan Taylor, said of Gunn's mid-credit sequence: "It's a different tone. I would have shot it differently. But I think it's cool that it reaches out and touches that other universe. That universe is coming. The Guardians universe is really cool and wacky… but that sequence in the credits, I would say, is the only part of the movie where I'm happy to give the credit away…" The credit sequence introduced the Collector to the the Marvel film universe - thus connecting Thor/Avengers to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

In the video posted on facebook, Gunn also mentions that he's nearly done filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and explained why he hands out play-do to people on his sets. He also announced a raffle for a autographed photo of the cast and a hat that only members of the cast and crew would receive. To enter the raffle, you'll need to donate $5 to the Rainforest Trust.
