Lyft Offers Rides In Ghostbusters Ecto-1

This coming weekend there will be a much higher chance than usual of seeing something strange in your neighbourhood.

The transportation service Lyft is teaming up with the new Ghostbusters film to provide customers with a one of a kind trip. This weekend you'll have the option of selecting Ghost Mode in the Lyft app, which will bring a decked out Ecto-1 to your doorstep. Not content to just offer a no frills ride, it will come equipped with a Hi-C Ecto Cooler and Ghostbusters Twinkies, because if you're riding in style you should eat in style as well.

The only catch is that you have to live in one of five cities to activate Ghost Mode, those being Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. It will be available starting tomorrow and runs through Saturday, and the hours of operation are 10 am to 6 pm.

Now, you probably won't encounter any ghosts during your trip, and I imagine there won't be a giant cloud of pink smoke behind you, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Ghostbusters is set thirty years after the events of the original film and is being directed by Paul Feig. The impressive comedic cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, and also features cameos from original Ghostbusters stars Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts.

Ghostbusters hits theatres on July 15th.
