Pokemon: Volcanion to Be Distributed in October

Pokemon trainers in the United States will finally have their chance to get Volcanion this fall. Nintendo announced that the Mythical Pokemon and star of the newest Pokemon movie will be distributed in North America and Europe this October. Similar to previous Mythical Pokemon distributions, trainers can get a serial code for Volcanion at GameStop locations in the United States, Italy, and Germany. Distribution points for other countries were not initially provided.

Volcanion is the first ever Fire/Water dual Type Pokemon and comes with a special signature move "Steam Eruption", a Water Type attack that can also burn opponents. Volcanion also knows Flamethrower, Hydro Pump and Explosion.

With the official release of Volcanion, players will finally have a chance to complete their National Pokedex before Pokemon Sun and Moon comes out in November. Volcanion was leaked years ago when Pokemon players data mined Pokemon X and Y, but the Pokemon wasn't officially announced until last year.

In addition to the just announced distribution, Volcanion is also one of the featured Pokemon in the new Steam Siege expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, which will be the last expansion for the current X/Y series of cards. Volcanion also stars in Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, in which Volcanion reluctantly teams up with Ash and Pikachu to rescue Magearna (a mythical Pokemon that will be featured in Pokemon Sun and Moon) from an evil trainer and his team of Mega Evolved Pokemon.
