The making of a cinematic universe is a difficult thing. For many hopeful series, they have looked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last decade to see how a film franchise can become a box office juggernaut. If you hire enough actors named Chris, throw in some bomb action sequence, and keep a steady release schedule, it seems like almost anything is possible. Oh, and fans can't forget post-credit scenes. More films are tagging on after-credit clips to tease fans about a franchise's next film, but it looks like the DCEU isn't sticking by the rule.
After all, it turns out that Wonder Woman will not have a post-credits scene. During a recent interview with CinemaBlend, producer Charles Roven explained why DC Entertainment's new film will not have a end-credits sequence.
"I'm not going to say we'd never do one," Roven hinted. "There was one in Suicide Squad. But I don't think that we want to feel that we're forced to do something just because we didn't in the past."
The site chose to question the producer about the scene since the film's press screenings did not feature any additional footage. For now, it looks like the tag which ended Suicide Squad is more an an anomaly than anything else. As for whether Justice League will get a post-credits scene, only time will tell. If the DCEU were going to plug a tag into one of its films, putting it in the franchise's most hotly anticipated film would surely help.
Anticipation is hitting a fever pitch for DC's latest, as Wonder Woman enjoys a 4.06 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings. The full synopsis for the movie can be found below.
