After the record ratings of The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere, many were wondering if the show could hold onto its 16.1 million viewers. The answer is not quite, but the show still drew in numbers that put most other shows to shame. The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 2 "Infected" attracted 13.9 million viewers, which was a 13 percent drop from the premiere. The episode also nabbed an impressive 7.1 ratings among adults 18-49. Even with the 2 million viewer drop-off, the "Infected" episode finished good enough to become the second highest rated episode for the series ever. The Walking Dead topped all other cable and network competition, except for NBC's Sunday Night Football, which featured a key match-up between Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. NBC's Sunday Night Football was way up over the previous week, so it's likely that the game drew some live viewers away. Future Sunday Night Football games might not feature such an enticing match-up, so The Walking Dead could see a ratings rise again next week.
