The solicitation text for November's first issue of Arrow Season 2.5 has been released, and in it, fans learn something:

The comic book might very well have some pretty major impacts on the TV series.

In the upcoming third season of the hit CW drama, we've already learned that there will be a new Count Vertigo -- what we hadn't heard is that Brother Blood may be making a return.

Here's the solicitation text:

A tense hostage situation leads Team Arrow to discover that Brother Blood may still be alive! But how many acolytes does the Church of Blood have? And what is their plan for Starling City?

Of course, those of us who read the comics, know that "Brother Blood" can be a title that's passed down. The idea of Mayor Blood turning out to secretly be alive would be one thing -- it would shift the dynamic in a big way, especially because so many of our predictions about Season Three revolve around the idea that the city seems a bit rudderless, with the mayor, the District Attorney and so many police officers killed during Deathstroke's night of terror.

A new Brother Blood and a resurgent Church of Blood (maybe even with at least one of those people still carrying a bit of Mirakuru in his bloodstream?) could be a game-changer for the season, though...so it seems regardless of which way they elect to go, this is a potentially pretty big story come the start of Season Three.

The previous volume of Arrow comics took place primarily in their own space, and either in between or during episodes. Not much that took place in them had any impact on the show, but showrunners have said that this time around, material in the comic is fair game to use later on in the show.
