Funko's 12 Days Of 2017 Reveals
Funko CEO Brian Mariotti loves to celebrate the holidays by giving fans something to look forward [...]
Star Wars
There's a lot to like in this first reveal, but not much altogether surprising. Star Wars mystery minis will be a big hit, and it's surprising that there wasn't a set before this.
The biggest reveal is the POP deluxe additions, which Brian teased "think spaceships & beasts!" This could be the entryway for collectors to start forming more dioramas with their POPs.
prevnextCurrent Movies
For the second day, the focus was squarely on current and upcoming movies, and there is plenty to be excited about.
Ghost in the Shell will be getting the POP treatment, and those should do quite well depending on how audiences react to the reboot. The Tom Cruise-led Mummy reboot will also be getting some POPs, as will the anticipated Alien: Covenant.
War for the Planet of the Apes is also getting a set, as will the Alec Baldwin-starring Boss Baby animated film. The mysterious Dark Tower will also be getting some POPs, and Despicable Me 3 will be getting the full Funko treatment with Dorbz, POPs, Mystery Minis, and Pint Size Heroes.
prevnextMarvel
Funko will continue to expand their Marvel line, in both comic and movie form in 2017.
The most anticipated are probably the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 assortments, which will include POPs, Dorbz, Rock Candy, and Pint Size Heroes. Expect a ton of Baby Groot on department store shelves.
Funko is also releasing an Agents of SHIELD version of Ghost Rider, complete with Dorbz ride. Count this prediction correct.
prevnextDisney
The Disney reveals probably included the most surprises, as it looks like they gave Funko an open runway for classic cartoons.
Funko is bringing fan favorites like Duck Tails, Chip N Dale, Darkwing Duck, and Talespin to the POP line, and Beauty and the Beast fans will have more Funko Home products than they can shake a stick at.
prevnextCurrent TV
There will be plenty of fans trying to grab a BoJack Horseman POP next year, and fans of Rick and Morty and Trollhunters will also have a bevy of collectibles to add to their shelves.
The biggest debut though will be the Westworld set, which will undoubtedly include POP's, but not sure if that will also include other lines like Dorbz or Rides.
prevnextClassic TV
Current TV can't have all the fun, and there will be plenty of takers when Funko debuts their Parks and Recreation line of POPs. Also be on the lookout for the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Pops.
prevnextDC
Funko's other big property has always been DC Comics, and the biggest additions to that line look to be the Wonder Woman rollout, which will include POPs, Dorbz, Pint Size Heroes, and Rock Candy, and the same goes for Justice League.
Also of note is that there is another wave of 66 Batman POPs, which will hopefully include Batgirl.
prevnextOlder Movies
Classic movies is also getting some love, with the original Planet of the Apes and more Harry Potter coming in 2017. There will also be more horror POP's based on Psycho, Krampus, and Carrie.
You can bet that Donnie Darko line will be quite coveted.
prevnextMusic
Funko's music line has never been a big priority for the company, but it's getting a few new additions next year. The Metallica set will probably do quite well, and there will be plenty of people who want to add a Jimi Hendrix to their collection.
prevnextAnime
Funko previously announced the new Naruto Dorbz, but the Sailor Moon set of both POPs and Mystery Minis should do extremely well.
prevnextGaming
Second to the Disney set, the gaming reveals probably had the best surprises. Fans are finally getting Dragon Age POPs and a Tekken set as well!
The retro games mystery minis could also be quite good and the Overwatch Mystery Minis should do amazingly well.
prevnextThe Final Reveal Is A Mystery
Funko has been a bit delayed in getting their final reveal out to fans, but once it gets released the post will get updated. With Star Wars, TV, Movies, Marvel, and DC included so far, do you have any thoughts of what the final gruip could be?
Funko hasn't debuted a new set of WWE reveals, so it could possibly be that. They could also debut a new comics line based on Valiant or Dark Horse properties, and the line could always use more animated depictions, so maybe a cartoon-centric line is set to debut.
