What Are the Rarest Pokemon in Pokemon Go's Solstice Event?
Pokemon Go's Solstice Event is causing thousands of Fire and Ice-Type Pokemon to spawn around the [...]
Common
Common Pokemon During the Event: Cyndaquil, Vulpix, Growlithe, Shellder, Swinub, Ponyta
These six Pokemon are springing up on just about every street corner as a part of Pokemon Go's new event. Shellder and Swinub are pretty common normal circumstances, at least for those who live close to anything close to a body of water, but the Fire-Type Pokemon are typically a little harder to find in most regions.
The two biggest prizes in this group are Cyndaquil and Growlithe. Cyndaquil is a Starter Pokemon, so they're a bit rarer and harder to catch than other Basic Pokemon. You'll need to catch 32 Cyndaquil in order to get enough Candies to evolve one all the way to Typhlosion....or just 16 Cyndaquil if you use Pinap Berries.
Growlithe is a bit more common than Cyndquil, but players should still stock up on this furry dog Pokemon, as its evolution Arcanine is currently the second strongest Fire-Type Pokemon in the game.
One other note: it's unclear whether Eevee is part of the Solstice Event or not, since it does evolve into the Fire-Type Pokemon Flareon. Eevee is a relatively common Pokemon under normal circumstances and we've continue to see it spawn around town at about the same rate as it did during non-event season.

Uncommon Pokemon During the Event: Charmander, Sneasel, Houndour, Seel
You shouldn't have any problem finding these four Pokemon during the event, although they're not popping up at quite rare as the common Pokemon in our tier. For instance, we've seen about 15 Houndour in one area during the event compared to around 30 Cyndaquil.
The biggest surprise on this list is Charmander, which is arguably the most popular Pokemon included in the event. Pokemon Go has treated the Starter Pokemon strangely during this and other events recently. Squirtle was a lot more common than Totodile during the Water Festival, both Bulbasaur and Chikorita appeared at the same rate in the Grass Event, and now Charmander is spawning less frequently than Cyndaquil. Luckily, a lot of players already had an opportunity to catch plenty of Charmander during the New Year's event at the start of the year.
Sneasel and Seel were both common in our area, so it's hard to tell just how much more frequently they're spawning compared to usual. They're not popping up at the same rate as the common Pokemon, so we feel comfortable putting them on the middle tier.

Rare Pokemon During the Event: Jynx, Lapras, Magmar
Three Pokemon we haven't seen very much during the event are Lapras, Jynx, and Magmar. Both Magmar and Lapras is usually rare under normal circumstances, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that these two Pokemon are both still hard to find. We can say that we've spotted both these Pokemon in the wild at least once during the event, so they're both out there,
Jynx is a bit of a surprise as it's usually a somewhat common Pokemon in many regions. However, Jynx has all but disappeared from many people's radars since the event started. Maybe it's because Jynx is technically the second strongest Ice-Type Pokemon available in the game?

Evolved Pokemon in the Event: Charmeleon, Charizard, Quilava, Typhlosion, Piloswine, Houndoom, Flareon, Arcanine, Ninetales, Cloyster, Houndoom, Dewgong, Flareon
To be honest, we've yet to see any Evolved Pokemon appear on our radar during this week's event. That doesn't mean that they're not out there, just that they're super rare in comparison to the other Pokemon spawning. We've seen other Pokemon Go players report seeing at least a few of these Pokemon during their travels through their respective neighborhood.
We can't definitively say whether any of these Pokemon spawn more frequently than the others, which is why we're lumping them together on the same list.
