Even though it's been out for a while now, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is easily one of the best looking games you can find on the market right now – and apparently it's about to look even better.

Speaking with Eurogamer, a representative for the development team at CD Projekt Red confirmed that support is coming for the game as far as Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro are concerned. "I can confirm that we are working both on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro patches for The Witcher 3," they noted. "No extra details at this moment. More info is coming."

Even though the team has noted that it's putting its "fully focus" on Cyberpunk 2077, it sounds like it has some features in mind for The Witcher III as far as the new hardware is concerned. It didn't note exactly what, but it sounds like the game will be on par with the PC version, with an enhanced level of visuals, as well as a possible speedier frame rate and other little things to make it look better than ever. Now it's just a matter of seeing how it's applied, and more importantly, when the patch will be available. It seems like a pretty good guess that it could come out later this year, alongside the Xbox One X's retail release. (That's not confirmed, though.)

The regenerated interest in The Witcher III probably comes with the game's recent sales surge, as CD Projekt Red has previously noted that it managed to sell better this year than it did with its original release a couple of years back. More than likely, the patch might also upscale earlier versions of the game, though, again, that's unconfirmed.

We'll see what the developer has planned in the next few months, but we have full confidence that the game will somehow look even better than it ever has – and that's something we weren't really expecting.

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Don't wait for it to be patched for new consoles, though. Check it out now.
