Hockey season is almost upon us once again, and that means we're about to get into the video game portion of it as well with NHL 18. But there are a few lucky Xbox One owners that will be able to try it out just a few days before its release.

EA Sports has announced that the game is now available to play through EA Access on Xbox One. You can play in either single player or multiplayer for up to ten hours, after which you'll need to pay for the game to keep on playing.

The good news is that you'll be able to carry over any progress that you make in the game into the full release, and you can actually purchase it for ten percent off using the EA Access discount. That means you'll be able to pick up the game for $53.99. You can download the game here.

The game features a number of refinements, including a new three-on-three arcade style mode, as well as the addition of the Las Vegas Golden Knights expansion franchise, as well as a team creation suite.

As for EA Access, you can snag a full-year membership for $24.99, or pay $4.99 a month. It's a small price to pay to get your hands on a number of trials, including the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront II, as well as various titles in the Vault.

NHL 18 releases on September 15th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
