One of the Marvel Universe's newest characters is slated to get its own series and it's sure to excite fans of both Wolverine and the Incredible Hulk.

Announced by Marvel editor Nick Lowe at Marvel's Next Big Thing panel at New York Comic Con this week, none other than Weapon H will be getting a solo series as a part of the publisher's Legacy initiative.

Appreciating a fight that has gone all the way back to the uber-collectableThe Incredible Hulk #181, the team at Weapon X cooked up an experiment that combined the DNA of both Hulk and Wolverine. The end result? Weapon H making his first appearance in Totally Awesome Hulk #22 by Greg Pak and Robert Gill.

Barely able to contain his excitement announcing the new series, Lowe did fail to mention a creative team behind the project.

"It is the most eight-year-old idea…and I love it," Lowe remarked.

A tentative release date was tabbed for March 2018, following the release of two new X-Men comics — Rogue & Gambit and Legion.
