Ryan Reynolds Sent A Hilarious Deadpool Birthday Video To Zayn Malik

Singer Zayn, formerly of boy band One Direction, shared a special birthday message from Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds Deadpool to his Instagram account.

Zayn, it's Wade. Don't hang up. Uh, I just want to wish you a very happy birthday, again. Uh, I also want to apologize for jumping out of the cake like that. I didn't realize it was the middle of the night, I had no idea I was in the middle of your bedroom. Uh... I want to thank your security, who were very, very gentle and creative with the taser. So anyway, happy birthday to you and [late Canadian hockey player] Mr. Tim Horton. You share your birthday with a very special Canadian who is very near and dear to my heart. All right.

The "Pillowtalk" and "Dusk Till Dawn" singer celebrated his 25th birthday January 12.

Reynolds' embodiment of the character helped carry Deadpool to $783 million worldwide in 2016, making it the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.

Its sequel, which recently moved up two weeks to an earlier premiere date, has continued the viral and offbeat marketing of the original: Reynolds shared a promotional image inspired by Michelangelo's famous Sistine Chapel painting after appearing in-character for a video promoting the Deadpool sequel and a tattoo opportunity at Brazil Comic Con.

Reynolds most recently shared another new image — paying tribute to Bea Arthur — in celebration of Deadpool 2's earlier-than-expected debut.

An early teaser for the movie featured Reynolds parodying iconic painter and art instructor Bob Ross.

Atomic Blonde director David Leitch takes over from Deadpool helmer Tim Miller, with Reynolds again joined by stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapicic and Brianna Hildebrand.

Joining the returning stars are franchise newcomers Julian Dennison and Josh Brolin as time-traveling mutant Cable.

The Deadpool sequel now opens May 18.
